Euroleague website

Barcelona, 2004

Spain is very much about sports, and Basketball is a big game there.

With its central offices on the iconic Montjuic Olympic Hill in central Barcelona, Euroleague is Europe's premier basketball league, with millions of followers in over thirty countries.

This was to be the first revamp of their original website. Much had changed since they first started their online presence, and it was time for a brand new look at their operation.

They had just invested in a rebranding exercise, and were now ready to consider a brand new website design.

I immersed myself in the world of basketball and produced original designs that explored every aspect of the game.

By the time I left Barcelona for Galapagos, these designs were handed over to the agency, which continued to develop them.

The website homepage and main sections design was a mixture of news, stats and featured content, all designed to be easily accessible while retaining their impact, without making the page overly cluttered.

A modular and flexible system was crucial for a successful dynamic ongoing management.

The site would feature extensive real-time and regularly updated statistical information on teams, players, matches... all of which were considered for these designs.

The online shop was a crucial part of the business model for Euroleague online operations, for which a whole new interface would have to be designed.

Euroleague has an inspirational theme entitled 'Devotion', based on the single most representative feeling that drives basketball fans all ove Europe.

We suggested a number of ideas to capitalise on this theme, which wouldbe featured in the more inspirational and interactve section of the site.

Suggestions for a basic high impact header design system in line with their brand typography and colours.
